Wombat Wednesday is a photo series showcasing the travels of Mr. Wombat. Who is Mr. Wombat? Well, he’s a stuffed wombat I brought back from Australia. Why? Because wombats are awesome—especially Mr. Wombat who has been all over the world. Kind of.
Oh hey! It’s Wednesday again.
Can you guess where Mr. Wombat is visiting today?
Paris! Specifically, Notre Dame.
Last week I wrote about Arthur Frommer’s visit at the Boston Public Library and during the Q&A session, Mr. Frommer said his favorite travel destination is Paris. Maybe it’s a little cliché but, really, Paris is an amazing city. And one of my favorites.
I’ve been to the City of Lights a whopping four times so far—that’s more times than any other foreign city (excluding Sydney & London where I lived/studied for 4 months each). Of those four times, I’ve been to Notre Dame, um, maybe 6 or 7 times? It’s touristy but I still really enjoy seeing it while I’m in Paris. Kinda solidifies the experience for me.
No matter how many times I visit Paris, I still get the urge to visit at least two sites in the city of lights. I usually take a stroll near Notre Dame, and then I also like to buy Eiffel Tower tickets and visit my other favorite site. Paris is beautiful, no?
(Mr. Wombat enjoyed Notre Dame, too.)

Paris! And I've been to Prague but can't remember if Mr Wombat joined me there. Must've had too much absinthe.

It's definitely a nice idea. Plus it's another reason to keep on traveling (not that I need another).

Ha! Our family has a teddy bear we travel with and take pictures of. Good fun and gets the kids interested in where the bear is.

Yes you do! But Paris is also one of those cities that is surprisingly easy to get back to—no matter where you are in life.

I spent a total of about six hours in Paris, but I think it rivals Edinburgh for my most favourite cities. NEED to go back!!

hah!
Don't fret, Sean. Mr Wombat enjoys a night out just like any other critter. There's time yet for a night out as an emo/hipster!

Aww, that's cute but I'm a little disappointed. To me, when someone says 'Goth' I think of EMOs; was expecting to see a wombat with thick black eyeliner!

Ah, don't worry Cornelius.
Mr Wombat hasn't been traveling the past 2 years. Obviously he's anxious for the big trip. Very soon!

Wow I think I need to travel a bit more to compete with Mr. Wombat besides throughout the US, Brazil and Peru I'm lacking in travel destinations. Travel on furry friend, travel on.

Don’t worry Cornelius. Mr Wombat’s travels have been severely limited in the past year or two, so he’s anxious to get out again soon. SOON!
