#BostonTravelers TweetUp RoundUp

Since I started blogging in the past few months I’ve “met” a lot of interesting & exciting people through Twitter. Obviously it’s been a great way to digitally talk with like-minded individuals, but it’s nice to get out once and a while. And to drink drink drink.

Tweet Tweet

Susan, Barbara, Alison & Me

So with that in mind, a TweetUp was organized (with Susan’s help!). On Thursday, a handful of us met up to share travel stories & talk talk talk travel. It was snowing (looked like a blizzard to me) and cold (as always, Boston… GRR), but 4 of us showed up:

  • Susan who writes the popular travel blog Transient Travels. Her blog’s got a great reputation and is one of the many I’ve been following as inspiration for my own.
  • Barbara who works at TripAdvisor and brought luggage tags & bottle openers. Bottle openers!
  • Alison who is hilarious and writes about all sorts of stuff at Beers & Bananas. Best blog name ever? Possibly.
  • I was there, too.

Several others have expressed interest in doing this again and I’m definitely down for that idea. Can’t wait to do it again and meet more of you!

Oh, and with that note Louise (@travelpod) is going to be in Boston next week, so a meetup is in order. And I’ll be traveling to both NYC and Washington, DC this month, so I’m looking forward to meeting more awesome travel tweeters. Can’t wait to say hello in person and share my BRAND NEW business cards!

Looking forward to meeting up when you make your way down to DC!

  4. Graham says:

I'm totally up for meeting sometime soon. I do have to order more business cars, but I should have some by the time the group meets again. Of course, I am traveling again from Feb. 13-15, but that is life. At least it's a personal trip this time.

  5. Adam says:

Looks like there might be a chance of an impromptu gathering on Feb 12. Interested?

  6. Adam says:

Definitely can't wait! I tried to get my sister in DC to go to one of your TweetUps as my proxy but she was busy. So I'll just come down there myself!

  7. Adam says:

Yeah, there were actually some Corona reps at the bar, also, and they gave us free bottle openers as well! They were giving away a snowboard, too, but you had to be drinking Corona to win—and frankly, I'm not a huge fan of Corona.

  8. Dude bottle openers score :) Sounds like a great night was had and hey we all love any excuse to talk travel.

  9. Cornelius Aesop says:

Wish I live in a city where travelers go to or come from. I might have to take a trip to one of these cities just to be included in a tweetup. Thanks for the info of who came, I'm interested in the Beer and Bananas site I like the idea or the name not sure too early to tell.

  10. Adam says:

Beer & bananas are two of your main interests, right? Rightfully so for a lil monkey like yourself!
