I stayed at the Hotel Claris in Barcelona during my recent trip there. The hotel was beautiful on the inside and out. I had a room up near the top floor as well, so not only was I near their beautiful rooftop terrace, but I also had a nice view of the street down below.

The very hip hotel in downtown Barcelona was one of the city’s first to open its terrace to the general public. From the top (where there was a pool but I didn’t have the time to test it out), you could get a glimpse of Catalan life down below. I spent some time up there just sitting and observing the people on the street.
The breakfast buffet in the downstairs room was decent; the service was good. WiFi isn’t free and it was sporadically working while I was there. The rooms, however, were beautiful and the design of the hotel in general was humble but stunning. Location couldn’t be beat either!
If I wanted to splurge on a luxury hotel in Barcelona, I’d definitely consider staying at the Hotel Claris again. Beautiful, hip & trendy hotel!
