I’d like to write a post about how Iceland has changed my life (mentioned first here), but you’ll just have to wait until I find the right words.
In the meantime, enjoy the beauty that is Iceland—in photos. Even if you’re hating on it now because of a little volcano named Eyjafjallajökull, there’s no doubt Iceland is an amazing, beautiful country.
I would (and do!) recommend it to every traveler in a heartbeat.
Horse riding in Iceland
Nordic sculpture in Reykjavik
Inside Reykjavik’s church (which was being renovated when I visited)
Thingvellir National Park, on the edge of two continents
Waterfall on the Golden Circle day tour
Geyser!

You got some neat pictures! Iceland was amazing to/for me as well and I'm congratulating myself for going last year and not this spring!
Thanks Cailin. Let me know because I can definitely recommend some must-see places near or outside of Reykjavik.
Seriously! Plus, Iceland is/has been on everyone's lists for 2010. I'm glad I went last year…
Love the photos!
I was hoping to and am still planning on going there in July maybe! :)
Wow, it is really beautiful there! How is the weather? I guess the best time to visit is in the summer? To be honest, I will be happy to see the Eyjafjallajökull erupting, the pictures I founf in internet are gorgeous. But I'm so far away from Iceland now, and is it easy to approach Iceland anyway with this ash problem?
(I need to admit that I copy paste “Eyjafjallajökull”, not able to remember the spelling yet!)
Ohh so lovely. The fourth picture is my favourite. What is with Icelanders and their crazy sweaters? Hehe
Before I started getting into this whole blogging business I never had Iceland on my list of places I want to go but the more I read and see of it the more it's really starting to take my fancy.
I was so so tempted to buy a sweater! But it was cost-prohibitive. I ended up with a hat, though!
The weather is actually really nice! I was there in September so it wasn't in time for the midnight sun, but from what I've read and know, the weather really isn't that bad. Just gets cold, but not too cold, and snows/rains, but not too much.
Just the volcanoes you've gotta look out for…. apparently.
Dude you're in England. You're so close!
go go go go go go !!!!
Haha, you are right! Thanks for sharing
Haha I ended up with two after my summer there!! I bought one and a friend gave me an extra of hers…haven't found the right place to wear it in California yet, but next trip to the snow I'll definitely pack my wool sweater. ;)
I've been wanting to go back sooo much lately and your pictures are not helping!! Hope you're having a wonderful time traveling!! I'm so jealous.
Lucky! If I ever find myself living somewhere cold again, I think I'll splurge and get a wool sweater from Iceland.
Thanks for the comment, Ashley!
