In April 2014 I was hired by Germany Tourism to visit and photograph the UNESCO World Heritage sites along a specific travel itinerary from their consumer website. The “Visionaries and Pioneering Thinkers” travel route suggests UNESCO sites around Germany’s unique history and position during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century as well as the Bauhaus and Modernist architectural and design movement of the early 20th century. Both moments in time during Germany’s history were defining moments changing the course of not just European history, but our world history.
