It was a relatively easy journey to Guadalajara. Mexico’s second largest city, and the capital of the relatively touristic Jalisco Mexican state, there are regular flights from all over the USA to the city.
I arrived in Guadalajara in the evening for a long weekend city break. Bonus: it was for Guadalajara Pride weekend. The city has one of Mexico’s largest LGBTQ populations and while some of the other Mexican cities are more popular with international LGBTQ tourists, Guadalajara still has a thriving LGBTQ community.
There are several gay bars, clubs, parties & festivals happening in Guadalajara all year, but obviously during the summer, things start to heat up! Especially during Pride weekend!
Guadalajara Pride Weekend Highlights
From the annual Prohibido LGBTQ-inclusive festival to the pride parade (over 120,000 spectators!), Guadalajara knows how to throw a pride party! Below, some snapshots from my weekend in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
